Face Recognition with Deep Learning

A course project on modern face recognition. A first model trained on only 218 images overfit heavily; data augmentation (rotation, zoom) and a face-alignment step that normalizes eye and lip positions, combined with a pre-trained network, improved generalization. The goal was to detect faces in video from the project’s own dataset.
